So who am I? I'm Katie, a born and raised Fargoan and professional photographer. I knew when I was seven I'd be a professional photographer. It's all I've ever wanted to be. I went to Minnesota State University-Moorhead and graduated in December 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis of photojournalism. The following fall I moved out to western Massachusetts where I attended the prestigious Hallmark Institute of Photography. After successfully completing their seriously intense 10-month program in 2006, I made the long trek back to Fargo and started my business. I photograph weddings, seniors, kids and babies. A couple of weeks ago I met up with Jessica & Marc up in Mayville for their engagement session. It was the first really cold weekend up here and so the majority of the pictures were taken inside. Marc’s Dad is the president of Mayville State University so we had access to any building we wanted. It was fun exploring the campus and finding places to take pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

Emerson is one of the cutest kids ever. It has been so much fun watching him growing up and doing new things. This time he’s sitting up, crawling and walking a bit with assistance. SO exciting! You can check out his earlier sessions here.

It feels like forever since I have blogged! Well this one will be a pretty large one so I hope I’m making up for my lack of blogging!
Last Saturday I photographed Andrea and Alex’s wedding. I went to high school with Alex so it was fun to share this day with him and Andrea. It was also a lot of fun to see people that I haven’t seen since graduation day…just a few years ago 
Anyway, Andrea and Alex: I had a great time with you two on your day! Your families were so kind and so much fun! Thanks for letting me be a part of your big day!
Andrea and Alex opted to see eachother before the wedding and have a first look. I love when couples decide to do this because it typically leaves us with a lot of time for pictures. In the case of Andrea and Alex they had an evening wedding so we were able to have tons of times for pictures with great light.
There were some small jabs at Alex during the toasts. I love Andrea’s reaction here.

Last Saturday I met up with Pamela and Jon downtown for their engagement session. We had a beautiful day for engagement pictures. I had a blast with them just walking around finding fun places for photographs. I’m really excited about their wedding next year! Here are some of my favs!
