The barn styled shoot is definitely one of my favorites that we’ve done! The day of the shoot we, of course, had bad weather predicted and, of course, it never really materialized. But I decided to cancel it anyway just in case we set everything up and then it poured. Since I cancelled it our regularly scheduled models were not able to participate and we had to quickly find replacements. I posted a plea on Facebook and thankfully Lindsay Arbach and her husband Patrick volunteered to help us out. I had never met them before and was so happy that they were so laid back and easy going! I was also so grateful they volunteered because I had put A LOT of work into this shoot and couldn’t imagine not doing it! We found this old barn just outside of Moorhead and fell in love! We wanted this shoot to have vintage elements and be very casual. Here are a ton of my favorites!

I used my Mother’s china and silverware for this shoot. The napkins and tablecloth are from an awesome antique store in Dilworth called Antiques By Burton.

I found the blue glass Ball jars at the newer Arc Store on 32nd Ave near the new Mexican Village in Fargo. This is the same place that I found the chairs from the Tree Shoot that we re-covered.

How amazing are those flowers?

My Grandmother and I (let’s be honest, mainly my Grandma) made pies instead of having a cake. These individual pies in a jar kind of overflowed but I still think they turned out cute – plus they tasted mighty good! We made strawberry ones. YUM!

I saw this in a magazine or online and knew I HAD to do it! We put carnations in test tubes (which, with a little digging, you can find super cheap online) and hung them with fishing wire. I think it looks sooo cool!

I made the sign using pre-cut letters that I covered in black glitter. I cut triangles from tagboard and covered them with different colored paper. I used yellow ribbon to hang it and took purple ribbon to make bows as a decorative touch. It took some time but it turned out so cute! I also made the mustaches and lips using clay that you bake and hot glued them to dowels.

I brought my parents adorable, identical bikes along as well.

We found tons of fake butterflies at Hobby Lobby and put them up for this adorable pic!

Isn’t Lindsay gorgeous?!

All of the amazing flowers (bouquet, boutonniere’s and centerpieces) were done by Gloria at Hornbachers – Osgood (I recommend her to ALL of my clients). I also love when people incorporate special family heirlooms into their wedding day. Need something blue? Ask if a grandparent or aunt has a hanky or broach that is blue and incorporate it into your bouquet!

My Grandmother’s apple…

Lemon…

and cherry pie! Yes we ate them after and they were super yummy!

Thanks again to everyone who helped out with this shoot! Lindsay and Patrick Arbach, Lindsey Warner for helping plan this shoot, my parents for hauling things, cutting wood and overall helping me without me even asking and LeRoy and Rosemary Johnson for allowing us to use the barn on their property! Here are some of the places that we bought items from to make some of the cute details and also the very generous vendors who graciously shared their products and services with us.
